n8n is an automation integration, not a messaging channel. The ChatAgent community node lets your n8n workflows react to ChatAgent events and send messages through the WhatsApp number already connected in ChatAgent. The Meta connection, templates, and team inbox stay in ChatAgent.
How the n8n node connects
Create an API key
Generate an API key in ChatAgent settings and add it as a ChatAgent credential in n8n.
Install the community node
In n8n, open Settings → Community Nodes and install the ChatAgent node. Self-hosted and n8n Cloud both support community nodes.
Build the workflow
Use the ChatAgent trigger to start a flow from ChatAgent events, and ChatAgent actions to send messages back on WhatsApp.

No. Connect WhatsApp in ChatAgent first; the n8n node sends through that connection.
Does it work on self-hosted n8n?
Yes. Community nodes install on self-hosted n8n and on n8n Cloud.
Does ChatAgent sync Shopify or other stores through n8n?
Not natively. You can build that flow yourself in n8n; ChatAgent provides the messaging side.
